Listening, Writing and Reading Module:

More than 14 days (excluding the test day) before the test:

You are eligible for transfer within 3 months from the original test date.

You must select a test date, where available, within the next three months from your original test date. If your preferred test date is more than three months after your original test date then your transfer will be treated as a cancellation.

You can only transfer the same booking once.

Your test centre may charge an administration fee of 75 CAD.

Once the IELTS exam is transferred, the registration fee would not be refunded.

If the transfer request is received within 14 days from the original test date:

Any transfer requests received within 14 days of the test will be treated as a cancellation.
Exceptions:
Exceptions could be made under certain circumstances, for which a ticket with all the supporting evidence must be received by your test centre no later than five days after the scheduled test date.
We define exceptional circumstances as:

• Serious medical conditions which prevent you from attending or performing normally on test day; such conditions require supporting evidence of a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner
• Evidence of bereavement, trauma or other forms of significant hardship
• Military service.

Please note that transfers are only possible within the same test centre.

Speaking Module:
An administrative fee of $30 would be charged for any speaking slot changes. Certain conditions apply:
Late Arrival: If a candidate arrives late for their speaking exam for any reason, an automatic re-schedule is not guaranteed. The test would be re-scheduled based on the availability of a speaking slot and a speaking examiner.
No-Show: If a candidate fails to arrive for their speaking exam and has communicated the absence either verbally or via email, they may request to reschedule. An automatic re-schedule will not be guaranteed and will depend on the availability of the speaking slots and speaking examiner.

More than 14 days (excluding the test day) before the test:

If you cancel your IELTS test registration more than 14 days before the test (Test day is not counted) you will receive a 75% refund of the total test fee.

Within 14 days but more than five days (excluding the test day) before the test:

If you cancel your IELTS test registration within 14 days but more than five days before the test (Test day is not counted) you will receive a 50% refund of the total test fee.

Within five days (excluding the test day) before the test:

If you cancel your IELTS test registration within five days of the test (Test day is not counted) you will not receive any refund.

Test takers who miss the timeline will NOT receive a transfer or cancellation and MUST reapply.
