WHAT IS CELPIP?

The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) is an English Language Proficiency Test accepted by several governments, professional organizations, universities, colleges, and employers as proof of English language proficiency. The test provides a valid and reliable measurement of a test taker’s English abilities in different situations, such as communicating with co-workers and superiors in the workplace, interacting with friends, understanding newscasts, and interpreting and responding to written materials. CELPIP is a 100% Canadian-based English exam that is entirely computer-based. As a computer-based exam, the results are quickly delivered to the candidate online. CELPIP is made and developed in Canada by Paragon Testing Enterprises, a subsidiary of British Columbia. It reflects the best Canadian research and incorporates Canadian English and accents as used in Canada. Paragon has become Canada’s leading English Language testing organization and is committed to developing tests that meet the highest quality standards in the field.

CELPIP Registrations

BITTS Testing Services is the first official test centre for the CELPIP tests located in the prime location of Mississauga.

  • CELPIP General Test
    The General Test assesses the functional listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills in the English language, and is accepted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as proof of English language proficiency for the purpose of permanent residency in Canada. Other organizations that accept CELPIP General Test include the Real Estate Council of British Columbia (RECBC) and Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC).
    Format– The CELPIP General has four modules – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The total test duration is approximately 3 hours.
    Time designated for each module:
    Listening: 47-55 Minutes
    Reading: 55-60 Minutes
    Writing: 53-60 Minutes
    Speaking: 15-20 Minutes
  • CELPIP General-LS Test
    The General-LS Test assesses the functional listening and speaking skills of the candidate and, is accepted by IRCC as proof of English Language proficiency for the purpose of Canadian Citizenship and is also accepted by professional organizations.
    Format – It has two modules – Listening and Speaking. The total duration of the test is for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
    Time designated for each module:
    Listening: 47-55 Minutes
    Speaking: 15-20 Minutes

  • Canadian English and Accent
    The CELPIP Test is a reputed Canadian test that incorporates Canadian English and accents. People looking forward to working and residing in Canada in the near future can acclimatize themselves to the Canadian public environment by choosing to take the CELPIP test. It also enables the test takers to become ready for the Canadian work environment, by having a fair degree of English proficiency.
  • Computer-Based Exam
    CELPIP is a completely computer-delivered test, providing the test takers with the opportunity to complete all sections of the test in one test sitting, i.e. listening, speaking, reading and writing. There is no need for extra appointments or interviews to register for this. CELPIP test taker uses a mouse and a keyboard to appear for their Reading and Writing modules of the test and a computer microphone and headset to complete the Listening and Speaking module of the test. All these equipments are provided at the test centre.
  • Quick Online Results
    The test results are shared with the test taker within 4-5 business days. Candidates can also opt for Express Rating*. and get their results in half time*.
    Candidates may choose priority shipping at an extra charge or regular shipping as per their preference while registering for their CELPIP test online.
