If any one of the above steps is missing, test takers will not be confirmed with a test date and the test centre won’t be responsible for delays regarding the registration confirmation.
Once, the payment for the IELTS test is received and the documents have been approved, a confirmation email will be sent to the test takers. Please note that paper-based applications might take up to 10 business days for processing. Therefore, it is recommended that the test takers should prefer the online registration method.
Test takers will also receive a detailed confirmation email about the date of the test, location, timing, etc. from the IELTS team.
It is advised that after submission of the application forms, test takers must regularly check their emails, including the spam folder.
Please don’t confuse your payment receipt email with the registration confirmation email. The registration confirmation email contains the exact date and time of the test in detail.
In case of any query, send an email to ielts@bitts.ca.
*Please remember that you must bring the same original identification document (passport or PRC) with you on the test day. If you do not bring the original document, you will not be allowed to appear for the test and you won’t be able to request to transfer the test date to a later date, or get a refund. If you have sent your passport to your agent/attorney or Immigration Office, you must retrieve it in order to appear for the test and you can send it back to them after the test is finished.
The International English Language Testing System, or IELTS, is a globally accepted English language testing system for non-native English speakers. The British Council, IDP, and Cambridge English jointly administer IELTS.
Over 3,000 academic institutions in Australia, Britain, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United States accept IELTS. Over 3.5 million tests were taken in more than 140 nations in 2018. IELTS is one of the most popular tests in Canada. It covers high stakes for English language testing systems.
Both IELTS Academic and IELTS General serve as valid proof of English proficiency. Candidates who wish to proceed for immigration purposes have to appear for the IELTS exam. The IELTS test report form (TRF) awards all test takers with a band, ranging from 1 to 9, based on their linguistic skills. Apparently, band 1 signifies a “non-user” and band 9 signifies an expert user of the English language.

A new way to experience IELTS
Everyone loves to make choices. Now, with computer-delivered IELTS, you will take exactly the same IELTS test, Academic or General Training. But you have to type your answers on the computer. However, you will be given a paper for rough work*.
It’s exactly the same test content and structure, yet you’ll take it sitting in a modern computer lab using the latest technology and with technical staff on hand to help. Many test takers have told us they would like to try it, so computer-delivered testing is now being introduced at test centres across Canada.
You prefer typing rather than writing
Are you a person who is more comfortable typing than writing? Or, do you think your handwriting is hard to read? Apparently, using a computer could be the answer to these questions. Also, by opting for the computer-delivered test, you get an option to go back and edit your answers easily during the test whereas you cannot get this option with the paper-based test choice.
You can still plan your answers on paper
70% of test-takers we spoke to said they liked being able to plan the Writing section of their test on paper. You can still do this with computer-delivered testing.
Same standards, More venues.
It’s the same IELTS test trusted for its fairness and integrity by more than 10,000 organizations all over the world. Now it’s available in British Council test locations throughout Canada.
Same content, Greater flexibility.
It covers the same content, and now you have more dates to choose from. You can pick the day of the week that fits best with your schedule.
Same preparation, Easier booking process.
You can still prepare with the British Council IELTS apps and online learning materials. Now booking is even easier with our new mobile-friendly registration system.
Same Speaking test, More convenience.
The Speaking test can be either face-to-face in a private room or on the computer (VCS) with a trained and qualified Examiner. It is the most effective way of assessing speaking skills, and you can get to choose the day online when you are ready to take your speaking test.
Same results format, Faster results.
Our results are still delivered in the same easy-to-understand Test Report Form, and now you can view them online in 3-5 days. You can now view your e-TRF on your candidate portal. No physical copies would be issued unless they are requested for any specific reason. Admin fees would apply for issuing Physical Copies of the TRF.
VCS gives you a virtual means to connect with your examiner on an automated screen who interrogates you in real-time. You’ll be given questions on the screen with a displayed time limit. Do not worry about the modus operandi. Before leaving you in the room with the examiner, an invigilator will assist you and will ensure the smooth functioning of your headphones.
What are the advantages of the IELTS Speaking Test via VCS at the BITTS Testing Centre?
The term “accommodation” can be used to describe an alteration of environment, curriculum format, or equipment that allows an individual with a disability to gain access to content and/or complete assigned tasks. They allow students with disabilities to pursue a regular course of study.
Accessibility can be viewed as the “ability to access” and benefit from some system or entity. The concept focuses on enabling access for people with disabilities, or enabling access through the use of assistive technology.
BITTS is committed to provide accessibility and accommodation to the test takers who need it. This accommodation can range from providing private test room to providing spacious chair/seat as requested.
