How To Access IELTS On Paper Offline and Online?

The candidate provides all the necessary access information at that interface—i.e. full name, date-of-birthday, test date, and test module (Academic and General).

An additional IELTS TRF is not issued. More importantly is that the British Council does not disclose IELTS exam results over the phone or email.

How to Access IELTS on Computer-based Results

Many candidates prefer the computer-based form of IELTS compared to its paper-based version. The number of such test takers is increasing fast these days. Its results are available faster compared to the results of paper-based IELTS.

Those who take IELTS on a Computer can access their results online after 3 to 8 days from their test date. The computer-based IELTS exam results are declared online only. Candidates can download their electronic TRF through the official British Council IELTS result service.

The process is very simple: login to the portal using your valid credentials and download your result. The British Council notifies the test taker via a notification once the result is available.

The URL to the test taker’s portal is included in the notification sent to the test takers.  All test takers can download their ETRF (Electronic Test Report) and send it to the organisations they are applying to. It can be possible either through email or a test taker’s portal.

The Process to Access IELTS UKVI Exam Results

Those who want to visit the United Kingdom for academic and professional growth should register for IELTS UKVI and come to the UK for educational and professional purposes, a UK Home Office-approved SELT (Secure English Language Test) dedicated to Visa applications to the UK.

Paper-based IELTS UKVI test results are available within 13 days from the test date. Computer-delivered IELTS UKVI test results are declared within 3 to 8 days from the test date.  You can visit the official British Council IELTS Results Service Portal. You should login to the portal using your valid credentials. The British Council helps IELTS UKV send URLs to the test takers portal in its notice. Click on the link and open it. Type your valid credentials to login. Be ready to provide your necessary information—i.e. name, candidate number, passport number, et al.

The hard copy of the UKVI IELTS exam includes your UKVI Reference Number. The British Council mails the hard copy of KVI tests after the period specified above. A candidate’s UKVI TRF is sent at your registered address or straightway to institutes listed by you during the IELTS booking process.

IELTS exam UKVI results are available online for 28 days. Candidates must get a copy of your IELTS test results printed. The online version of this test is not considered official.

Candidates are authorized to use your IELTS UKVI TRF for official purposes.

Steps to Access Computer-Delivered IELTS Test Results

This is different as compared to IELTS on the computer—it is conducted at British Council-approved test centers. The test takers must answer their listening, reading, and writing questions on a computer screen installed at the test center. Only the speaking test is conducted face-to-face.

Candidates can access your computer-delivered IELTS test results online and offline. The entire process in both scenarios takes only 3 to 5 working days from the date of your test.

The British Council will notify candidates about it within this period. The notification contains a URL to the Official British Council IELTS Result Service. Candidates can visit the portal and login into your account using valid credentials. You can check your IELTS exam results once you login successfully.

The result is valid for 28 days from the date of declaration. However, online results are not considered official. Therefore, candidates are advised to get your IELTS TRF for official purposes.

The TRF is mailed to test takers within a week from the date of their test. It is mailed to the address provided during the IELTS exam registration process.

Some test takers request to collect their TRF at their test center. In such a scenario, contact your test center. Do not forget to bring your test details and national ID proof (Passport) for identification purposes.

Your IELTS exam TRF can be directly mailed to the institutes you selected during the registration process.
