FEE REFUND POLICY
BITTS International Career College has established its refund policy that includes the terms in Sections 25-33 of the are prescribed as provisions that a career college is required, by section 29 of the Private Career College Act, to include in its fee refund policy. O. Reg. 353/23, s. 13. These are summarized below:
Full Refunds
A full refund is provided to a student at their request and requires the student to provide BITTS International Career College with a written demand for a refund.

BITTS International Career College shall refund all fees paid by a student under a contract for the provision of a vocational program in the following circumstances:
- The contract is rescinded by a person within two days of receiving a copy of the contract.
- The vocational program is discontinued before the student completes the program.
- BITTS International Career College collects the fees before the registration was issued for the college under the Act or before the vocational program was approved by the Superintendent or collects a fee greater than the amount disclosed to the superintendent. In such a case the student is entitled to a full refund of the undisclosed fee or a refund of the difference between the disclosed and the collected fee.

- Collects fees that are not allowable before the student enters a contract.
- If a person connected with BITTS International Career College makes a false or misleading statement that constitutes a fundamental breach of contract.
- If the contract does not contain the components required under PCC regulations.
- BITTS International Career College expels the student from the college in a manner or for reasons that are contrary to the college's expulsion policy.
- A total of more than 10% of the program is taught by an instructor who does not meet the standards prescribed in the regulation.
Partial Refunds

Partial Refund Where Student does not Commence Program
If a student is admitted to a vocational program, pays fees to BITTS International Career College for the same, and subsequently does not commence the program, the college shall refund part of the fees paid by the student under the following circumstances:
- The student gives the college notice of withdrawal from the program before the day the vocational program commences.
- In the case of a student who is admitted to a vocational program on the condition that the student meets specified admission requirements before the day the program commences, the student fails to meet the requirements before that day.
- The student does not attend the program during the first 14 days that follow the day the program commenced, and the college gives written notice to the student that it is cancelling the contract no later than 45 days after the day the program has commenced.
The amount of a refund shall be an amount that is equal to the full amount paid by the student for the vocational program, less an amount equal to the lesser of 20 per cent of the full amount of the fee and $500.

Partial Refunds: Withdrawals and Expulsions after Program Commenced
A career college shall give a student who commences a vocational program a refund of part of the fees paid in respect of the program if, at a time during the program, the student withdraws from the program or the student is expelled under the expulsion policy of BITTS International Career College.
- For programs that are shorter than 12 months, the period for calculating the refund is the total length of the program. For programs longer than 12 months, each program would be divided into 12-month periods. For the 12 month the student is currently enrolled in the student is entitled to a refund of fees paid for the program for that period.
- If a student withdraws or is expelled after 6 months BITTS International Career College is not obligated to provide any refund for that period.
- For programs that operate on a fixed number of hours that extend over an indeterminate duration, students are entitled to a partial refund if they withdraw before half of the total number of hours are delivered.
- Refunds must be paid within 30 days after the student has given notice that they are withdrawing from the program or receives notice that they are being expelled.
- The amount of a refund shall be an amount that is equal to the full amount paid by the student for the vocational program, less an amount equal to the lesser of 20 per cent of the full amount of the fee and $500.
No Retention of Refund
A career college shall not retain, by way of deduction or set-off, any refund of fees payable to a student for the purpose of recovering an amount owed by the student in respect of any service or program other than a vocational program offered by the career college.
Treatment of Books and Equipment
In calculating a refund, BITTS International Career College may retain the retail cost of books or equipment that it supplied to the student if the student:
- Fails to return the books or equipment to the career college within 10 days of the student's withdrawal or expulsion from the program, or…
- Returns the books or equipment to the career college within the 10-day period referred to clause (a) but fails to return it unopened or in the same state it was in when supplied.
Currency
Any refund of fees that a career college is required to pay under the Act shall be paid in Canadian dollars.
